Circuit Breaker Repair and Electrical Inspections in Leander, TX
A breaker that keeps tripping is telling you something. JTX Electrical finds out what, fixes it, and performs full electrical inspections for homeowners, buyers and property managers across the greater Austin area.
A circuit breaker has one job: open the circuit before the wire behind the wall overheats. When one trips once, you reset it. When it trips every week, or will not reset at all, or feels warm, or the lights on that circuit flicker, the breaker is either doing its job on a real fault or it has worn out and stopped doing its job. Either way it needs a licensed electrician, not another reset.
JTX Electrical troubleshoots breaker and circuit problems across Leander, Cedar Park and Liberty Hill, replaces failed and outdated breakers, and performs electrical inspections when you are buying, selling, insuring or just want to know what shape the wiring is in.
Breaker and inspection services
- Troubleshooting. We trace a tripping or dead circuit to the cause, whether that is an overloaded circuit, a failed breaker, a loose connection, a damaged wire or a bad device on the circuit.
- Breaker replacement. Replacing worn, failed, or wrong-type breakers with correctly rated ones, including AFCI and GFCI breakers where the circuit calls for them.
- Dedicated circuits. Adding a circuit for the appliance that keeps tripping the one it shares: microwaves, window units, shop tools, space heaters, well pumps.
- Whole-home electrical inspections. A room-by-room look at the panel, wiring, outlets, GFCI protection, grounding and visible hazards, with a written report of what we found and what matters.
- Pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections. A second opinion on the electrical items in a home inspection report, or a look before you list so nothing surprises you in negotiations.
- Insurance and rental inspections. Documentation for insurers and for landlords and property managers who need to know the wiring is safe.
Why call JTX instead of resetting it again
- We diagnose before we replace. Swapping a breaker without finding the cause hides the problem. We find the cause first.
- Licensed and insured. Anything inside the panel is done by licensed electricians under TECL #37015.
- 24/7 emergency service. A breaker that will not reset, a burning smell, or a panel that is hot is not a wait-until-Monday problem. Call any hour.
- A written report you can use. Inspections come with a plain-English report that tells you what is a safety issue, what is a maintenance item, and what is fine.

- 3Fix it and document it
Replacement, repair or a new circuit, with a written record of the work.
Breaker questions from around Leander
Why does my breaker keep tripping?
The common causes are an overloaded circuit, a short or ground fault somewhere on the circuit, a failing breaker, or a faulty appliance. A breaker that trips repeatedly is doing its job on a problem that needs finding. Resetting it again is not a fix.
Is a warm breaker or panel dangerous?
A panel or breaker that is noticeably warm, buzzing, or smells like burning plastic should be looked at immediately. Do not open the cover. Call JTX; we treat this as an emergency call.
What does an electrical inspection cover?
The service panel and breakers, visible wiring, grounding and bonding, outlets and switches, GFCI and AFCI protection, and any obvious hazards such as open junction boxes or overloaded circuits. You get a written report.
Do you replace old breaker brands that inspectors flag?
Yes. If your panel is a brand with a known failure history, we can replace the breakers where a compatible replacement exists or replace the panel where it does not.
