Smart home questions from Leander and Cedar Park
My smart switch says it needs a neutral wire. What does that mean?
Many switch boxes in older homes were wired without a neutral, and most smart switches need one to power their electronics. We can run a neutral to the box or install a switch designed to work without one, depending on the location.
Can you install a smart thermostat if I do not have a C-wire?
Yes. We add the common wire the thermostat needs, or install an adapter where running one is not practical, so the thermostat has steady power.
Do you install smart electrical panels?
Yes. Smart panels such as Span replace the load center and let you monitor and control circuits from your phone, and they pair well with a generator or solar. It is a panel replacement, done by licensed electricians.
