EV Charger Installation in Leander, TX

A Level 2 charger in your garage means the car is full every morning. JTX Electrical installs home and commercial EV chargers across the greater Austin area, including the dedicated circuit and the panel work to support it.

Licensed & Insured · TECL #3701524/7 Emergency ServiceFamily Owned · Leander, TX

Charging on the cord that came with the car adds a few miles an hour. A Level 2 charger on a 240-volt circuit adds a full charge overnight. The difference is a dedicated circuit from your panel to the garage, a charger rated for it, and a panel with the capacity to carry it alongside everything else in the house.

That last part is where most EV charger installs get interesting. JTX checks the panel first, tells you whether it can take the load, and installs the charger, the circuit, and if needed the panel upgrade as one job.

EV charger services

  • Load check before the quote. We look at your service size and what is already on the panel so you know whether the charger fits or whether a service upgrade comes first.
  • Level 2 home charger installation. Hardwired or plug-in chargers from Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Grizzl-E, Emporia and others, on a dedicated circuit sized for the charger.
  • 240-volt outlet installation. A NEMA 14-50 or similar receptacle in the garage or carport for a plug-in charger or a mobile connector.
  • Panel upgrades for EV loads. When the panel is full or the service is too small, we upgrade it as part of the same project.
  • Load management. Smart chargers and load-management devices that let two cars, or a car and a large appliance, share capacity without a bigger service.
  • Commercial and multifamily charging. Chargers for workplaces, apartments, HOAs and fleets, including the distribution and metering behind them.

Why Leander EV owners call JTX

  • We size the circuit to the charger, not to the outlet in the wall. A charger on an undersized circuit trips, overheats or charges slowly. We match them.
  • Licensed and insured. A 240-volt circuit and a new breaker is panel work, done by licensed electricians under TECL #37015.
  • Panel and charger in one visit when possible. If a service upgrade is needed, we schedule the two together so you are not without a charger for weeks.
  • We install what you bought. If you already have the charger, we install it. If you do not, we tell you which ones hold up.

How it works

Tell us the car and the charger

Or just the car. Send a photo of your panel label and where you park.

  2. 2
    Load check and quote

We confirm the panel can carry it or quote the upgrade alongside, and give you a written price.

  3. 3
    Install and test

Circuit, breaker, charger, and a test charge before we leave. Permit and inspection handled.

EV charger questions from Leander and Cedar Park

Can my panel handle an EV charger?

Many can, some cannot. A Level 2 charger is one of the largest continuous loads in a house. We check your service size and existing loads before quoting, and if the panel is full or undersized, we quote the upgrade at the same time.

Should I hardwire the charger or use a plug?

Hardwired installs are cleaner and are required for some higher-amperage chargers. A 240-volt receptacle gives you flexibility to swap chargers. We install either and will tell you which suits the charger you own.

How long does an EV charger installation take?

A straightforward install with the panel close to the garage is usually a half day. Long runs, finished walls, or a panel upgrade take longer, and we tell you before we start.

Do you install chargers for businesses?

Yes. JTX installs workplace, multifamily and fleet charging across the greater Austin area under the same license.
