Does a mini-split need its own circuit?
Yes. A mini-split outdoor unit is on a dedicated circuit sized from its nameplate, with a disconnect within sight of the unit. Indoor heads are either powered from the outdoor unit or on their own circuit, depending on the system.
Do you install the mini-split itself?
JTX handles the electrical: the circuit, the disconnect, the whip and the connections. The equipment set and refrigerant work are done by your HVAC contractor, and we coordinate the schedule with them.
Can my garage or casita panel handle a mini-split?
We check the panel before quoting. If it is at capacity, a subpanel at the detached building or a service upgrade at the house is quoted with the circuit.
Can you wire a multi-zone system?
Yes. Multi-head and multi-condenser systems need circuits for each outdoor unit and power to each head. We wire from the manufacturer's electrical data.
